SAS at Jackson's Mill

Welcome to the Mill!

If your school is signed up to attend SAS at Jackson’s Mill, here’s a sneak peek at your soon-to-be home.

Students lying on the ground in a pile of bright yellow gingko leaves, smiling and laughing as leaves fall over them.

Sleeping at Jackson's Mill

A cabin built of stone and wood stands on a grass field near a decorative tree. Millstones are embedded into the stonework.

At Jackson’s Mill, we sleep in cabins li ke the one pictured here. These are a cozy camping option, especially for a first-time camper. Each cabin has heating, air conditioning, and full bathrooms with showers.

Inside a cabin at Jackson's Mill, four metal bunk beds with thick mattresses line the dark wooden walls.          Inside a cabin at Jackson's Mill, ten beds with metal frames line the dark wooden walls of the cabin.

Inside each cabin, you'll find bunk beds and plenty of space for playing card games, reading, and chatting with your friends.  If you have a sleeping bag, please bring it—but if not, no worries! There are sheets, pillows, pillowcases, and blankets in every cabin.

Activities and Classes at Jackson's Mill

Two climbing students have almost reached the top of the Tango Tower rock wall.    On the Tango Tower climbing structure, one student climbs a typical rock wall, while another student climbs a giant wooden ladder and a teacher helps steady a rope ladder.

One of the most exciting parts of SAS at Jackson’s Mill is the Tango Tower. This climbing structure offers traditional rock climbing walls, plus a fun partnered climb that looks like a giant ladder! Whether you’ve never climbed before or have some experience already, you’ll find a fun challenge on the Tango Tower.

Two students wear safety goggles while performing an outdoor science experiment. One student holds up a small glass flask.     A student with a determined look rides a BMX bike over a red metal ramp in a grassy field.

At SAS, you'll get to become a freshwater ecologist, testing water samples and searching for microorganisms in the streams and ponds around camp. You can also try BMX biking, shooting bows and arrows, and lots of fun challenges and games.

Smiling students line up with bows during an archery class in an indoor range.   Students peer into microscopes in an indoor lab. Petri dishes, slides, and identification keys are on the table near the microscopes.

Meals at Jackson's Mill

Every day at SAS, we have breakfast, lunch, dinner, and plenty of snacks! We’re lucky to get to eat in the Jackson’s Mill Dining Hall, where the chef serves a wide variety of foods for you to choose from. Don’t worry if you have food allergies, or if you only like eating certain foods—we'll work with you to make sure you have plenty to eat!

It's going to be a great week. We can't wait to meet you at the Mill!
