Science Adventure School takes place at four amazing locations across West Virginia, all of which welcome families, schools, and other groups.

The Summit Bechtel Reserve

The Summit is the original home of Science Adventure School. Situated in the wilds of West Virginia, The Summit Bechtel Reserve is a training, Scouting, and adventure center for millions of youth and adults involved in the Boy Scouts of America and anyone who loves the outdoors. The Summit is also home to the National Scout Jamboree and the Paul R. Christen National High Adventure Base. WVU Jackson's Mill

A special-mission campus of West Virginia University – owned and operated by WVU Extension –  WVU Jackson’s Mill represents the historic home of West Virginia 4-H camping in the United States as the site of the first statewide 4-H camp in the nation. Today, Jackson’s Mill continues to serve thousands of 4-H’ers each summer and throughout the year. The historic location is also home to the West Virginia Fire Academy, a one-of-a-kind training facility for volunteer and professional firefighters from around the state and across the country. WVU's Outdoor Education Center

Situated in the heart of the WVU Research Forest, just north of Coopers Rock State Forest, the WVU  Outdoor Education Center is a multi-faceted facility dedicated to providing quality educational and aerial adventure activities. The facility includes the WVU Challenge Course, WVU Zip-Line Canopy Tour and the Adventure Basecamp Overnight Facility. Groups can select from single day zip-line canopy tour & aerial adventure activities, team-building events, STEM based zip-line programs or custom create their own overnight event. Heritage Farm Museum & Village

SAS's newest location, Heritage Farm, strives to be a source of hope and renewal for the Appalachian region. Home to over 15 log structures, seven award-winning museums, an Artisan Center, aerial adventures, mountain bike trails, and much more, Heritage Farm continues to delight guests from around the globe as it has for over 20 years. By experiencing early pioneer life through our exhibits, interactive folk crafts, watching artisans at work using traditional methods, and a variety of year-round events celebrating Appalachia's cultural heritage, Heritage Farm hopes to instill an appreciation of the past in their visitors to create an emboldened, vibrant future.
